The Box

This months Julep Maven box contained all kinds of goodies
I have the Boho Glam Maven box
depending on your style quiz you get different boxes

At first glance the box contains a good quality makeup bag  and a foot file for pedi’s. The bag contained:
~Two polishes, a gold and a purple
~a tool
~pedicure roll on lotion to be used with the file
~a small foil packet of foot cream

At closer inspection I realized that the purple polish was a magnetic polish and the little tool they gave me was the magnet they you hold over the nails to get the design.
 
I have not yet been able to test out any of my products but they seen beautiful and I know that they are going to be great. I will keep you posted on what I think! :D 

So… May Birchbox… Lets just say that I am officially not getting any more of these. I was hoping that birchbox has improved since the last time I got their boxes but I have to say that I was really let down again. 

The theme for this month was gossip girl but nothing in this box was gossip worthy. 

This month I recieved:
Arquiste | L’etrog 
I am not too fond of receiving fragrances because I am very picky. I was not impressed by this scent and it was too strong and mature for me. 

Beautyblender | Blender Cleanser
It is a good thing I actually own beauty blenders or else this sample would have been a waste. In all reality, it is just okay. Soap and water works fine enough for me.

Color Club | Nail polish in Disco Nap
Finally! One decent product! i really enjoy this color and the finish of this polish. It goes on smoothly with bold reflective color. It is part of a collection called Foiled.

Dr. Jart + | Waterfuse BB cream
When i got my box and i saw i got this product i was excited so I checked it out right away. I saw the little tube of it and was upset it was so small but figured that it is expensive so this sample is worth something. I then tried to squeeze some product out and the tube was mostly air. Maybe there were two uses at most in that entire tube. I actually tried it out this morning and it gave good coverage  and a nice finish but broke down on my skin and made it really oily by the end of the day. Another disappointment for me.

I forgot to take a picture of the birchbox extra but it was a twistband head band. There is nothing that special just a piece of black elastic but it is pretty convenient to have on my wrist and doesn’t cut my circulation off like hair ties do 

 And last is a little note card and envolope, guess i can use it for the next birthday :/

 I have not done any calculation to figure out the worth of the box but I really dont have to, to figure out that the box is not worth the ten dollars i paid for it.

I am saying bye to birchbox once again until I see that they do something better with their service.

Instead I created a subscription to GLOSSYBOX which is 11 dollars more expensive. It is $21 a month but it seems so much more with it. Larger more luxurious samples sounds good to me. They just opened a branch of the company to the US I would get on it fast before it sells out!

 When I got this in the mail and felt the weight to the box, I was already anticipating greatness. When I got to opening the box and looked inside, it was packaged nicely and all of the products were neatly placed inside a mesh pouch with a little bit of the paper filling on each side.

When I laid  the products out before me, I was more than happy because the products definitely exceeded 12 dollars.

 Moonlight Radiance Night Cream | Merlot
I have heard about this products from a youtube beauty vlogger and wanted to try but never had the chance. Yes it did come in foil packets which may be a turn off to some but it came with three of them. You dont even need a lot of a night cream since it is very thick and concentrated so each packet should last 3-4 days and I have 3 of them! Sounds like a good trial time to me!

Purity Masque | evie evan
While I have never heard of this company before, you can never have too many masques. The sample is in a decent size glass jar that maybe has two uses of product in it. I will keep you updated on how I enjoy the product.

 Beauty Flash Maxi | Comodynes Convenient Cosmetics
Once again I have not heard of this product but it seems to have an interesting concept. With a single spray the product is supposed to firm and tone the skin within the minute. The sample packaging says that there is only one use in the product though so I dont know if I will be able to see results. I have to save this product for a time that I feel I really need it. 

 Hawaiin Shea Body Butter | Tree Hut
Wow. This smells….Wow. The thick and creamy body butter melts right into the skin, absorbing quickly but still leaves the skin feeling super hydrated. The smell is amazing and the size of the product is really great. Since I do not have to use a lot to get good moisture, this sample will last me a good while and I am not complaining!

I am just going to give my first impression on these two products together since they are the same company. They are both single foil packets but I am always looking for new products for my hair since I like to condition it a lot and repair heat damage. With hair masks, you only need to use it once to see how it works and since I have load of hair masks already, its not like I need a lot of this sample. I do like to always have some new ones though, so my hair doesn’t get used to a product and so I don’t get any product buildup.
The Serum is a single packet as well but again, you dont need to use a lot of a serum, maybe i will depot it into a small container so it is more convenient then having the foil packet sit out. 

Overall, I am loving this service and will continue my subscription and see if they can live up to the impression that was made on me from the first box. The only thing that I wish, is that there would be makeup products and not just skincare and hair care. I am looking forward to my next box and maybe my wish will be answered. For now though, I am highly satisfied and would recommend this service to all you beauty junkies out there!
